Repository contains several miscellaneous collections consisting of personal papers of ministers and theologians. Included among these collections are Dr. William B. Sprague, Rev. Charles A. Briggs, Rev. Archibald Laidlie, Rev. John Henry Livingston, and Rev. Edgar Franklin Romig. Most prominent among these is the collection of historical notes, publications, and printed materials compiled by Romig, minister of West End Collegiate Church, 1922-1963. Romig's collection is related to the history of Christianity in America, containing documents concerning Collegiate Church, the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America, Reformed Church in America, Congregational Church, Baptist Church in the United States, Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States, Roman Catholicism, and miscellaneous denominations. Also included are manuscript sermons by Rev. John Knox, 1816-1858, Rev. T.W. Chambers, 1848-1896, Rev. Talbot W. Chambers, 1880-1905; and some correspondence, pamphlets, and publications.

The Transylvania Presbytery was organized by appointment of the synods of New York and Philadelphia.
